Cutting Instructions:

Red Sock Texture:
  • Cut 24 2" x 5 ˝" rectangles
  • Cut 24 2" x 8 ˝" rectangles
Brown Sock Texture:
  • Cut 26 2" x 5 ˝" rectangles
  • Cut 26 2" x 8 ˝" rectangles
Fat Quarters:
  • Cut 25 5 ˝" squares
    (3 squares from 7 fat quarters and 4 squares from 1 fat quarter)
Red & Brown Dots (Inner Border):
  • Cut 6 2 ˝" x width of fabric border strips
Monkey Friends (Outer Border):

**Cut Outer Border after remainder of quilt top is completed – Pay close attention while cutting since fabric is directional**

  • Cut 3 6" x width of fabric border strips
  • Cut 2 6" x length of fabric border strips

Assembly Instructions:

Step One: Prepare Blocks
  1. Sew 2 2" x 5 ˝" Red Sock Texture rectangles to each side of one 5 ˝" square, as shown.
    Press Toward the Red Sock Texture rectangles.
  2. Sew 2 2" x 8 ˝" Red Sock Texture rectangles to the remaining sides of the square to complete one block. Press Toward the Red Sock Texture rectangles.


    Repeat Steps A & B above to make 12 blocks with Red Sock Texture Rectangles.
    Repeat Steps A & B above to make 13 blocks with Brown Sock Texture Rectangles.

Step Two: Assemble the Quilt

Stitch the blocks together in 5 rows by 5 columns. Alternate red & brown blocks according to quilt picture. When arranging blocks align the 8 ˝" Brown Sock Texture rectangles horizontally and align the 8 ˝" Red Sock Texture rectangles vertically. This will prevent opposing seams from touching.

Step Three: Attach Borders

Red & Brown Dots Inner Border:

  1. Piece border strips as needed.
  2. Pin one 2 ˝" x 40 ˝" border strip to each side of the quilt. Match centers and ends and ease fullness as you pin the border strip. Sew each border strip and press towards the border strip.
  3. Pin one 2 ˝" x 44 ˝" border strip to the top and bottom of the quilt. Match centers and ends and ease fullness as you pin the border strip. Sew each border strip and press towards the border strip.

Monkey Friends Outer Border:

**Pay close attention to this step since fabric is directional**

  1. Piece border strips as needed.
  2. Pin one 6" x 44 ˝" border strip to each side of the quilt. Match centers and ends and ease fullness as you pin the border strip. Sew each border strip and press towards the border strip.
  3. Pin one 6" x 55 ˝" border strip to the top and bottom of the quilt. Match centers and ends and ease fullness as you pin the border strip. Sew each border strip and press towards the border strip.

Quilt & Bind as desired.
