Cutting Instructions:
Turkey Red Stars:
- Cut 6 3" squares (for Half Square Triangles) **
- Cut 12 2 ½" squares
- Cut 2 3" x 10 ½" border strips
- Cut 2 3" x 33" border strips
Windsor Blue Stars:
- Cut 6 3" squares (for Half Square Triangles) **
- Cut 12 2 ½" squares
Tan Stars:
- Cut 12 3" squares (for Half Square Triangles) **
- Cut 12 2 ½" x 4 ½" rectangles
- Cut 8 1 ½" x 1 ½" squares for sashing
Jet Stars:
- 1 ½" x 8 ½" sashing strips
**As an alternative you can use 2" Finished Triangle Paper
Assembly Instructions:
Step One: Flying Geese
**Pay close attention to placement of Windsor Blue and Turkey Red Squares**
- Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of each 2 ½" Turkey Red and Windsor Blue Square.
- With right sides together, position a Turkey Red Square on the corner of each 2 ½" x 4 ½" Tan rectangle (see diagram
for correct corner placement). Stitch on the drawn line. Align the ¼" line of a rotary cutting ruler along the stitch line
and trim away the excess fabric. Press open towards the darker fabric.
- With right sides together, position a Windsor Blue Square to the remaining corner of each 2 ½" x 4 ½" Tan rectangle.
Stitch on the drawn line. Align the ¼" line of a rotary cutting ruler along the stitch line and trim away the excess fabric.
Press open towards the darker fabric.

Make 12
Step Two: Half Square Triangles
**As an alternative you can use 2" Finished Triangle Paper.
- Draw a diagonal line from corner to corner on the wrong side of each 3" Tan square.
- Layer Tan and Windsor 3" squares making sure all edges are even. Stitch ¼" away from the drawn line on each side.

- Cut on the center line and press towards darker fabric. Trim each square down to 2 ½" squares.
- Repeat this step to make 12 Half Square Triangles in Windsor Blue & Tan and 12 Half Square Triangles in Turkey Red & Tan.

Make 12 - Sew the Half Square Triangles you have just made into pinwheel blocks as shown below. Press each rows seams in
opposing directions.

Make 3 Blocks
Step Three: Assemble Blocks
- Align Half Square Triangle, Flying Geese & Pinwheel Blocks according to the following diagram and piece together.

Make 3 Blocks
Step Four: Assemble the Quilt
- Stitch the blocks together with sashings to form 1 row of 3 blocks and 4 sashing pieces as shown. Press towards the
sashing strips.

Make 2 Rows - Assemble the sashings and cornerstones to form 2 rows of 3 sashing pieces and 4 cornerstones. Press towards the
sashing strips.

Make 3 Blocks - Sew rows together to form three rows with the rows of sashing pieces and cornerstones on the top and bottom as shown
below.

- Attach 3" x 10 ½" borders to sides of quilt. Press the seams toward the border.
- Attach 3" x 33" borders to top and bottom of quilt. Press the seams toward the border.
Quilt & Bind as desired.
