Cutting Instructions:

Star Blocks:

Quilt Panel:

  • Carefully cut end panel block apart on the lines.
  • Then, trim down to twelve 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" panel blocks.
  • Use quilt photo to determine blocks that will be used in quilt.

Red Flowers:

  • Forty-eight 4" x 4" squares

Blue Grid:

  • Forty-eight 4" x 4" squares

Yellow Stars:

  • Twenty-four 4" x 7 1/2" rectangles
  • Twenty-four 4" x 4" squares

Blue Stars:

  • Twenty-four 4" x 7 1/2" rectangles
  • Twenty-four 4" x 4" squares
House Block:

Blue Dots:

  • One 2 1/2" x 10 1/2" rectangle (A)
  • One 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" square (B)
  • One 2 1/2" x 7 1/2" rectangle (C)
  • Three 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangles (D)
  • Two 2 1/2" x 1 1/2" rectangles (E)
  • Two 2 1/2" x 24 1/2" strips (Side Borders)
  • Two 2 1/2" x 28 1/2" strips (Top & Bottom Borders)

Red Flowers:

  • One 2 1/2" x 4 1/2" rectangle (F)

Yellow Grid:

  • Two 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangle (G)
  • One 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" square (H)
  • Eight 2" x 2" squares (I)

Green Flowers:

  • One 2 1/2" x 12 1/2" rectangle (J)

Maisy Mouse:

  • Fussy cut one 6" wide and 6 3/4" tall Maisy Mouse (M)

White Dots:

  • Cut one 3 1/2" x WOF strip, subcut into: 
    One 3 1/2" x 3 1/2" square (N)
    Two 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" rectangles (P)
  • Cut one 2" x WOF strip, subcut into: 
    Four 2" x 3 1/2" rectangles (Q)
    Four 2" x 2" squares (R)
  • Cut three 2 1/2" x WOF strips, subcut into: 
    Three 2 1/2" x 24 1/2" strips (S)
    Two 2 1/2" x 2 1/2" squares (O)
  • Cut one 6 1/2" WOF strip, subcut into: 
    One 6 1/2" x 18 1/2" strip (T)
    One 6" x 6 1/4" rectangle (U)
  • Cut one 12 1/2" x WOF strip, subcut into: 
    Two 3 3/4" x 12 1/2" rectangles (V)

Assembly Instructions:

Red Star Blocks:
    1. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the 4" Red Flowers squares.
      With right sides facing, layer a 4" Red Flowers square on one end of a 4" x 7 1/2" Yellow Stars rectangle.
      Stitch on the drawn line and trim 1/4" away from the seam.

    1. Repeat on opposite end of the rectangle as shown.
      Flying geese unit should measure 4" x 7 1/2".
      Make twenty-four.

    1. Using the quilt photo, set aside the six panels that are used in the red star blocks and use in this step.
      Sew a Red Flowers/Yellow Stars flying geese unit to each side of a 7 1/2" x 7 1/2" panel block.
      Unit should measure 7 1/2" x 14 1/2".
      Make six.

    1. Sew a 4" Yellow Stars square to each side of the Red Flowers/Yellow Stars flying geese unit.
      Unit should measure 4" x 14 1/2".
      Make twelve.

  1. Assemble star block as shown.
    Star Block should measure 14 1/2" x 14 1/2".
    Make six.

Blue Star Blocks:
  1. Assemble six Blue Star Blocks using six quilt panels, Blue Grid squares, Blue Star rectangles and Blue Star squares. 
    Use assembly instructions from above.
    Star Block should measure 14 1/2" x 14 1/2".
    Make six.

House Block:
    1. Assemble one Fabric C rectangle, three Fabric D rectangles, two fabric E rectangles, one Fabric F rectangle and two Fabric G rectangles as shown.
      Unit should measure 7 1/2" x 8 1/2".
      Make one.

    1. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the 2 1/2" Fabric B square and 3 1/2" Fabric N square.
      With right side facing, layer a 2 1/2" Fabric B square on the bottom left corner of the 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" Fabric L rectangle. Play close attention to the placement of the fabric.
      Stitch on the drawn line and trim 1/4" away from the seam.

      With right side facing layer a 3 1/2" Fabric N square on the top of the right of the 3 1/2" x 8 1/2" Fabric L rectangle. Play close attention to the placement of the fabric.
      Stitch on the drawn line and trim 1/4" away from the seam.

    1. Assemble two Fabric P rectangles, one Fabric K square, the Step 1 block, and the Step 2 block, as shown.
      Unit should measure 8 1/2" x 12 1/2".
      Make one.

    1. Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of one of the 2 1/2" Fabric O squares.
      With right side facing, layer a 2 1/2" Fabric O square on the corner of the 2 1/2" x 10 1/2" Fabric A rectangle. Play close attention to the placement of the fabrics.
      Stitch on the drawn line and trim 1/4" away from the seam.

    1. Assemble two Fabric S rectangles, two Fabric V rectangles, one Fabric O square, one Fabric J rectangle, one Fabric U square, one Fabric M square and Step 3 unit, as shown.
      Unit should measure 16 1/2" x 24 1/2".
      Make one.

    1. Assemble Star Block using one Fabric H square, four Fabric R squares, eight 2” Fabric I squares and four 2" x 3 1/2" Fabric Q rectangles.
      Use assembly instructions on page 2.
      Star Block should measure 6 1/2" x 6 1/2".
      Make one.

    1. Assemble one Fabric S rectangle, the Step 6 unit, one Fabric T rectangle**, and the Step 5 unit as shown.
      Unit should measure 24 1/2" x 24 1/2".
      Make one.

    **On the sides of the panel there are phrases that say "What are you doing, Maisy?" Cut one phrase approximately 2" x 8 1/2". Turn under edges approximately 1/4" and applique to the Fabric T rectangle using your preferred applique method.
Inner Border:
  • Sew the 2 1/2" x 24 1/2" side borders to each side of the quilt center. Press toward the border. 
    Sew the 2 1/2" x 28 1/2" top and bottom borders to the top and bottom of the quilt center. Press toward the border.
    Quilt should measure 28 1/2" x 28 1/2".
    Make one.
Outer Border:
    • Using the quilt photo to determine block placement assemble star rows for outer border.

      Top and bottom rows should measure 14 1/2" x 56 1/2".

      Side borders should measure 14 1/2" x 28 1/2".
    • Sew the side border sections to each side of the quilt center. Press toward inner border. 
      Sew the top and bottom border sections to the top and bottom of the quilt center. Press toward inner border.
      Quilt should measure 56 1/2" x 56 1/2".
      Quilt and bind as desired.

Sew 2 Children All Over Fabric (O) rectangles to the sides of the quilt. Pay close attention to the direction of the print. Press toward the Children All Over Fabric (O).

Quilt and bind as desired.
