Blade Replaceable Review by Shirley J

Is the blade replaceable in this cutter? Seems to be small and won't last long.

Use It All the Time Review by Joy

I love this little thread cutter! It saves me so much time. I prefer it over scissors and feel lost without it when I leave it at home and am quilting somewhere else.

Could be better Review by Amista

Either the blade is too dull or the angle isn’t quite right. Either way I have a hard time getting it to cut threads when chain piecing.

I think I got a dud Review by Barbara

Everyone raves about these and I was so excited to see one in my Sew Sampler box! But it's dull and the blade is too small I have to jam it down on there and it messes up the fabric.

Very Handy! Review by Faith

When I got this in my box I didn't think I would use it. As I was chain piecing one day I realized it was just what I needed. It took a bit to get used to but now works perfectly!

Received in my sampler box and I love it. Just cut several dozen chains apart. Love the unique tools.

Needs work Review by susan

Great idea but the blade need to be sharper and a bit bigger. I was worried it wouldn't stay on table when you used it but it is heavy enough with little rubber non slip feet. However, like so many have mentioned it distorts your fabric because it pulls/shreads instead of cuts due to blade not being at proper angle/large enough and sharp enough to cut efficiently. Surprised they didn't iron out these in product testing.

Love this cutter Review by Elizabeth

I had trouble with this at first, but once I turned it so the blade was facing me, it works great. It does take a little getting used to and I agree the blade could be a little higher, but overall I think it's a very handy little tool. It saves me a bunch of time!

Thread cutter not what i expected.. Rest is great! Review by Mona

Thread cutter is not user friendly... It does not appear to be very sharp and the blade is at a weird angle... I won't be using it.

Hoping they find a new source for this nifty item...
One that works. Love the rest of my box... Looking forward to February! Great idea!

sturdy, but not sharp Review by jan

I would not recommend this item. I LOVE the idea and it is very sturdy, but sadly the blade is not sharp and I have stretched my fabric when cutting with this.

Not impressed. Review by Teresa

Sorry, but I prefer using my Clover seam ripper to cut the thread between my chain piecings.

Save your money - scissors are better Review by Kim
Rating

I very rarely write a review, but thought I should on this item. I received this item in the January Sew Sampler Box. The idea of a thread cutter is good and this one is made in the USA. However, the quality is lacking. The blade rips the thread. I had to put pressure on the fabric and thread to get it to finally cut the thread. Save your money on this item and use scissors for a sharper cleaner cut.

Love it Review by JoAnn

I think it is so so handy. I keep it by my machine, and use it when I am doing chain piecing. So much handier than trying (my fault) to hunt down my scissors (again).

Not impressed Review by Cynthia

Cheap plastic and not easy to use. I have another one that I bought at my local quilt shop that is far better. Disappointed with January box.

Cute but needs refining Review by Amie

Blade isn't sharp enough or tall enough. This was my first month after signing up for the Sew Sampler box. It was skimpy, retail prices inflated. Hoping this month will be better or I'll have to cancel

Great Tool! Review by Amanda

I received mine in my sew sampler box and I'm loving it. It's cutting really fast and easily. I don't really like that the blade is on an angle but if I position the cutter the right way in front of me it cuts effortlessly! It also sites really sturdy which surprised me.

Love This Handy Cutter! Review by Kris

I really love this little cutter for separating my chain piecing. I wasn't sure when I first started using it, but it is soooo quick and easy to use and separates my blocks really well. Sew Sampler Box's are great!!!

Needs Improvement Review by Joanne
Rating

I too received this little gem in my Sew Sampler box and was so excited as I had considered ordering it previously. I agree hat it is a wonderful idea but just doesn't execute as it should. If the blade was up a little higher and sharper or maybe went all the way across the space instead of at an angle, it would work so much better. I've been using it all week and am ready to give up and go back to my scissors. It snags the thread rather than making a clean cut.

Cool idea, but no good Review by Meredith
Rating

I got this in my sew sampler box. I was excited to give it a try. I am big into chain piecing. The blade is too low down and/or dull. When I slide the chain thread across the blade I need to use a good amount of pressure, pulling my stitches out when it finally cuts.
