What are layer cakes?

Moda Fabrics originally came up with the idea for Layer Cakes to go with their fabric collections. A Layer Cake is fabric bundled in 42 pieces of 10-inch squares with at least one piece from every print in the designer's line. Other manufacturers may call Layer Cakes 10-inch Stackers, Ten by Tens and 10-inch Squares. These pre-cut, curated bundles perfectly coordinate, so there is no challenge in finding themes or colors on your own. A collection includes different color palettes, making it easy to use colors across the spectrum in the same quilt.
