Block of the Month Quilts & Programs

Block of the month quilts are an exciting and easy way to complete a quilt without spending a lot of time at one sitting. When participating, you will pay a one time membership fee - then everything else is automatic! Each month you will receive a pattern and fabrics for that month's block. You construct that block, then wait for the next block kit. At the end of the program, you will have all the blocks made and will be ready to put the quilt together into a beautiful finished product!

Vicki Bellino and Marcus Fabrics have joined forces to bring us a stunning 1930's Block of the Month featuring the Aunt Grace First Place collection by Judie Rothermel. Finished size is 47" x 56".

In keeping with the tone of the collection, Vicki Bellino chose traditional blocks for this BOM quilt design. During this BOM you will learn several techniques including mitering borders, working with fussy cut prints, assembling setting triangles and English paper piecing. Our BOM includes the pattern and fabric to complete the quilt top and binding.

The Fat Quarter Shop is honored to present our first annual Vintage Kansas City Star Block of the Month.^TM The Kansas City Star newspaper, based in Kansas City, Missouri, published over 1,000 quilt patterns from 1928 to 1961. This exclusive block of the month program showcases some of these wonderful patterns. Each block has been perfectly recreated using easy piecing techniques. As an added bonus, you will receive with each month's block the name of the pattern and its author and the date originally published.

Fabric collection featured is Cattails & Clover by Kansas Troubles Quilters. Each block finishes at 12" and will be an intermediate to advanced pieced block (no templates, applique or paper piecing).
